The evad3rs are almost ready to roll out their hack, Linux development stalling

The highly-anticipated evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6.1 devices is nearing completion with the evad3rs (the developers) posting a 75% progress notice on their site, complete with an unfortunate memo for Linux users.

According to the brief update, three quarters of the team’s work has been completed. The jailbreak has entered a closed testing session and the next step is an extended beta, possibly involving select iPhone users (maybe even you).

The announcement also reveals that the Linux version will take a little more time to come to fruition. No surprise there.

Unlike the reputable iPhone Dev and Chronic Dev teams, the evad3rs have already set up ads on their blog. In other words, the crew is making a profit off of their jailbreak before they even hand out the goods. They also have a “contribute” button which allows users to make donations.

Not that there’s anything wrong with being industrious and successful at the same time. Just sayin’.
