The petite Latino actress is having a difficult time being taken seriously in Hollywood, especially as her image of 'sexy kitten' is being taken for granted for every major part she applies for. Eva says that it has become harder and harder for her to be chosen for a part that wouldn't imply her strutting around skimpily clad.
In order to tone down on her own sexually charged image, Longoria is currently filming a thriller with Michael Douglas, where she plays a special agent.
'I wanted to show the audience I was capable of doing something else, before they could only see me as Gabrielle', the actress said about the stereotype that was created once 'Desperate Housewives' became an international hit.
And, yet, as seriously as she wants to be taken, 'The Sentinel' still includes some scenes that show a lot of Eva's body. But she explains their existence as being essential for the plot of the movie: 'There is a shot of my butt in a tight skirt as I walk in the office. So my boss tells me to dress seriously. It is all very important. If the guy never checked out my butt you would never understand why I was being a bitch to him in the second scene'.
All in all, she may not be so close of getting rid of the 'sexy kitten' image. But stay tuned for more details about 'The Sentinel'.
