Star says magazines should blur faces of celebrity pets

Eva Mendes will be seen next on the big screen opposite real-life boyfriend Ryan Gosling in “The Place Beyond the Pines,” which she’s supposed to promote in a new interview with New York Magazine’s Vulture section. However, she’s more inclined to talk about how her dog’s privacy should be protected in the media.

In the interview, featured in the April issue of the mag, Eva refuses to talk about her role in the film she’s promoting or about a role in an upcoming production, which will also mark Ryan’s directorial debut.

She also doesn’t want to get into personal issues like how she and Ryan started dating or whether she wants to have children, which makes more sense than not wanting to talk about the film.

What Eva does want to talk about is how magazines should blur the face of her dog whenever they run paparazzi photos of her doing errands.

As you can imagine, that part of the interview is the talk of the town right now – and all of the right reasons, voices online are saying.

“I’ll go somewhere and they’ll be like, ‘Hey, Hugo!’ and I’m like, ‘How do you know Hugo’s name? That’s so creepy!’” Eva says.

This happens both when she’s out with her dog Hugo (pictured in the photo attached in a spread for Reebok) and when she’s out with Ryan’s pooch George.

Speaking of “How to Catch a Monster,” her role in Gosling’s upcoming film, Eva again stresses that she’d just wish the paparazzi would butt out of her business.

They’re ruining her life and the mystery of the projects she’s working on.

“I don’t want to disclose anything because I feel like there are no more surprises anymore, whether it’s in film, about the ending of a story, or what a character looks like – by the time we see the movie, we’ve seen paparazzi shots of the actor wearing the wig. Where’s the mystery? Where’d it go? I want it back,” she says.
