Despite starting her acting career a long time ago, Eva Mendes got to know international fame, worthy of an A-lister, just recently. Since then, various rumors have kept on plaguing her, from those hinting at her romantic life, to those of substance abuse and, as of late, those involving her in several cat-fights with her female co-stars from “The Spirit.”

Eva stars opposite Scarlett Johansson, Paz Vega and Kamie King in Frank Miller’s “The Spirit” and, despite several media outlets claiming the contrary, there were no disputes or diva demands on set, Mendes tells WENN. Moreover, the actress guarantees that, while she’s been in the industry for so long, not once has she had something against another fellow actress, therefore she never fought with them as the tabloids have her do.

From this, Eva concludes that all these rumors constantly popping up more or less frequently can only be explained by the misogynistic film industry she works in. “I know how people like to believe that, but it’s a very sexist way of thinking. Nobody ever asks that when men work together in an ensemble cast. I’ve been in the business 10 years and I’ve never had a negative situation with another actress - ever.” Mendes explains.

This is not the first time that the gorgeous actress speaks against the movie industry and Hollywood in particular. After saying that women are only appreciated here if they’re young and good-looking no matter their talent, and claiming to be in it not for the fame but to make a name for herself as a reputed thespian, Mendes, star of “Ghost” and “We Own the Night,” also said repeatedly how happy she was not to have been discovered earlier than she was.

“I just thank my lucky stars for that. There’s a lot of lost souls in Hollywood - a lot of young women who have so much, who come into fame and fortune when they’re young, and it's very difficult to handle that.” she recently said, hinting at all the young starlets that Hollywood brings up, only to have them fall shamefully a couple of years afterwards.
