"Desperate Housewife" Eva Longoria is afraid of being type cast, so she is now keen to play unglamorous, not-sexy parts.
The actress wants to shake off Gabrielle Solis, the character she portrays in the series. She doesn't want to end up like Jennifer Aniston, who is and will always be seen by the audience as the "Friends" star, Rachel Green.

Longoria says:
"I've done a couple of films and I'd love to do more.
I want roles that are the opposite of Gabrielle - I don't want to be known as just a sexpot, it's so hard to break out of.
Even though Jennifer Aniston's had huge success, she'll always be RACHEL GREEN."

Eva Longoria also claims that looks are in her way rather than helping her career:
"I've lost a lot of jobs because I was too pretty. And everybody's like, 'Oh, poor you.' But seriously, you don't get the good roles when you're beautiful."

The actress is currently dating basketball star Tony Parker, who is to make a cameo appearance in the next series of "Desperate Housewives".
