"Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria has been hit on the head by a falling pole while filming the series, in Pasadena, California, but she was not seriously injured.
The 30-year-old actress who plays ex-model Gabrielle Solis in the U.S show, was treated and released from a nearby hospital on the same day, according to her spokeswoman, who has also mentioned Longoria will return to work on schedule.
The accident was not expected to delay filming on the suburban drama Desperate Housewives' second series, which has attracted 22.8 million viewers for ABC and received 15 Emmy nominations from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The popularity of the series has even lead to has led organizers of the Golden Globe film awards to move its traditional Sunday ceremony to a Monday next year, to avoid losing viewers to Desperate Housewives.
