Producer and star of now-defunct TV series thank the tabloids for showing them the way

In April this year, shortly after the dating reality series she produced, “Ready for Love,” was axed by NBC after just 2 episodes, Eva Longoria was romantically linked in the tabs to one of the bachelors featured on it, Ernesto Arguello.

At the time, she laughed off the reports on Twitter, saying she was starting to grow tired of “dating” everyone she was photographed with.

In a statement to People hours ago, the former “Desperate Housewives” star confirms that she and Ernesto are an item, but is adamant that the romance is new and, implicitly, that reports back in April did not have an ounce of truth to them.

“I think that's why our relationship is so special – we truly started as friends. I guess we have the press to thank for pushing us to see something we didn't see!” Longoria tells the celebrity publication.

She and Ernesto have just returned from Nicaragua, where she was officially introduced to his family, so it makes sense for her to come out with the confirmation now.

An insider tells People that the two are very much in love.

“Eva and Ernesto are a perfect match. They both speak Spanish, have the same religion and the same cultural background,” says the spy.

“Their friendship and their similar philanthropic interests laid the foundation for their new romance. They're very much in love,” the insider adds.

That they’re in love is no secret anymore to whoever follows either on Twitter, because Ernesto just stated it plain for the world to see, in CAPS, no less.

“Happy to share NOW that it's true! Couldn't be happier,” Eva wrote on her page, linking to the People article with the confirmation. Ernesto’s reply was, “Me too, baby. I LOVE YOU.”

Clearly, things are pretty serious between these two if they’re already passing the L-word around on social media.
