They've had a fantastic year so far. The "Desperate Housewives" show starring Eva Longoria is going strong with a new season (which is being filmed as you're reading this), while Tony Parker was named MVP of the NBA final that he won with the San Antonio Spurs. Together they are making even bigger headlines, as their wedding is probably the biggest of the year. And yet they cannot have children.
At least not for a year. Don't worry, it's not something that has to do with Eva or Tony. Nope, it's the will of Marc Cherry. He is the "Desperate Housewives" creator. This whole deal is about the fact that the character Gabrielle Solis (played by Eva Longoria) does not have a pregnancy in her storyline. The situation is probably going to change, but since the script for the current season has already been written, Eva cannot show any belly.
Basically, it goes like this: you're an actress and your character cannot have children in a TV show. Therefore, you are not allowed to have children in your own real life. Am I the only one that finds this totally wrong? Then again, they are running the show that made Eva Longoria famous and they are also paying her nicely for it. So there, celebrities can make compromises.
If you think that is a tough thing to do to the newlyweds, get ready for this! Marc Cherry informed the two of the baby ban during the speech he took at their wedding. Try and picture it, as roughly as it is: Eva, Tony, you guys are beautiful, you're a match made in heaven and I wish that your love will be fruitful.....oh, by the way, you're not allowed to have babies for a year, I can't have that in my show!
I don't care who you are, that definitely rains on your parade. So that's why I don't buy it when Eva keeps on insisting that she is OK with that. The 32-year-old Mexican-American beauty claims that she and Tony want to spend time with each other, and although they want children very much, they will just enjoy each other for a year. That last part is undeniable.
