Nintendo of Europe has announced that European Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS owners are in for a treat, as the Nintendo 3DS Winter 2014 Bonus Game Promotion will enable them to get their hands on a free video game.

The announcement comes from the company’s website, where Nintendo reveals that anyone who registers their 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS at Club Nintendo along with either Super Smash Bros., Pokemon Omega Ruby or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire will receive a voucher for a free game.

The free games that players will be able to choose from are Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Yoshi's New Island, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Mario Golf: World Tour, Mario Party: Island Tour, and Pokemon Art Academy.

The offers last from now until January 12, and gamers will have until a month later, on February 12, to make up their mind regarding which of the listed games they claim using the code. Additionally, after being claimed, the games will be available for download until March 12.

This is certainly a nice thing for Nintendo to do, but removing the pointless region lock on its devices would have most likely won it more points with its users.
