The press has just been informed of a Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii and PlayStation2 hitting Europe. Atari has also confirmed that Namco's title combines lightning fast fighting and action that have made Budokai Tenkaichi 1 and Budokai Tenkaichi 2 the best fighting games of 2005 and 2006.

The game is said to deliver an even more extreme 3D fighting experience, improving upon last year's game with over 150 playable characters (wowza!), enhanced fighting techniques, beautifully refined effects and shading techniques, plus the character's effects will be much more realistic while the battles occur in over 20 stages. An improved control system for the Wii was in order, allowing players to mimic signature moves and execute devastating energy attacks more easily, just as they are performed in the Dragon Ball Z animated series.

This time, I can't say that the Wii is simplifying the control scheme. The thing is, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 actually needs a revamped control scheme as the game itself is quite chaotic and sometimes, beginner players get mixed up in the game's controls and don't even know where the enemy is, as stages are quite vast. More than that, it would be a lot easier to just lift up the Wiimote to get your character off the ground. It's more life-like wouldn't you say?

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is the ultimate chapter in Budokai Tenkaichi series with over 20 new characters such as Nail, King Cold and King Vegeta. But in addition to the unprecedented number of characters and improved Wii control system, the environments have also been enhanced to feature day and night stages. The power of the moon in the night stages gives players additional ways to transform their characters and let's fans recreate some of their favorite memories from the show.

Remember, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is set for release on the Wii and PS2, this winter. Keep close and we'll keep you posted.
