Though it already has a number of flash cards and drives, among other things, on the market, Verbatim has now added yet another such product, a 64GB SDXC card to be exact, to its European product lineup.

The new product that Verbatim has completed is a class 10 memory card that “handles large volumes of data at lightning speeds.”

The exFAT file system is the main reason this card can handle large data capacities, its actual size being of 64 GB.

The other major asset is the UHS-I bus interface, which lets it transfer said data at rates of up to 104 MB/s.

This newcomer is fully compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP, as well as any electronic with a SDXC slot.

“Users of digital cameras can shoot more pictures per second than ever before with that technology so a shot at goal by a football player, for example, can now be captured in far more detail,” said Hans-Christoph Kaiser, Business Development Manager Flash Verbatim EUMEA.

“Moreover, with private users becoming more professional with their camcorder filming, SDXC cards offer the opportunity to record professional videos as well.”

In the press release, Verbatim equated the 64 GB of storage with 20,000 1-megapixel JPEG images or an 8-hour recording of Full HD video.

The newcomer should soon start to be employed in game pads, digital camcorders, mobile phones, digital cameras and any other consume electronic that requires speedy flash storage.

It has already started to show up ins tores, coupled with a price tag of 289 Euro.

“The exFAT file system enables the SDXC card to handle those large volumes of data. Additionally, the UHS-I bus interface transfers movies, videos, pictures, games, eBooks, mobile apps or navigation maps with speeds up to 104MB/s,” states the press release.
