Toshiba once again came forth to help keep the flow of mobile computers steady, and it looks like it saw to the needs of the business sector instead of consumers this time around, its product being a Tecra series notebook.

With all the notebooks running around the worldwide PC market, that a laptop powered by an Intel Core CPU would appear is no longer surprising.

As such, Toshiba's new Tecra A11 machine did not draw any surprised glances, for the most part at least.

Essentially, it is a regular-size business mobile computer powered by the Intel Core i3-380M, which has a clock speed of 2.53 GHz.

Said processor, though it belongs to the previous generation of CPUs, still has its own integrated graphics (Intel GMA HD) and is backed up by 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory).

In other words, the configuration is meant to support any sort of document editing, web browsing, presentations, multitasking, even multimedia.

Discrete graphics are absent, but also unnecessary if it the machine is not going to be used for gaming.

That said, Bluetooth 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a hard disk drive with a capacity of 320 GB are also present.

Finally, Toshiba threw in an HD webcam (with face recognition software), an Express Card slot and a mini DisplayPort, for using an auxiliary display when required.

All the above are packed inside a 15.6-inch frame and complemented by a LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

With a weight of 2.5 kg and loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, it should already be up for order, or soon will be, for 769 Euro. It is accompanied by a 2-year warranty.

Along with the Tecra A11-1HZ, the company also brought forth the Tecra R840-11E, superior in several ways, although it measures just 14 inches. Stay tuned for more details on it.
