Sony has made one of those moves when an already existing product line, in this case the Micro Vault Click P series of flash drives, reaches a larger number of stores than before.

Sony has definitely been active lately, in pretty much every market segment it has a stake in, so it isn't too shocking to hear of a new move on its part.

In this case, however, it isn't some new product that shows up, but an existing line that is getting sent to a broader market than before.

Back in July, users may have stumbled upon a certain flash drive lineup called Micro Vault Click P Series, which we covered here.

It so happens that this very product line is making the news again, since it is now making its way to European stores as well.

For those that want a reminder as to what the flash drives can do, they are among those current-generation series which stick to the USB 2.0 interface instead of making the SuperSpeed leap.

While the USB 3.0 connection has notable advantages (5 Gbps transfer speed, 10 times that of USB 2.0), it also adds extra cost.

Sony figured it wouldn't hurt to keep the products more affordable, since the slim profile and the slide-out connector design, not to mention the shiny enclosures, already add enough to the price as it is.

Indeed, the USB connector slides out of the main body only when users so wish it, so that the port may be kept safe at all other times.

Furthermore, Sony threw in a 360-degree activity LED, plus the possibility of getting the unit in black or white colors.

As users may remember, the Sony Micro Vault Click P line is made up of 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 32 GB models.

The retail prices were not included in the announcement, but this report says they are of €8.90 ($12), €12.99 ($17), €24.90 ($34), €51.90 ($70), respectively (the 64GB models was not given a tag).
