Europa Universalis IV is the biggest 2013 launch coming from Paradox Interactive and the development team is ready to talk about one of the most important changes made to the core mechanics: the elimination of spies.

Johan Andersson, the leading developer working on the game strategy title, explains that covert actions will still be a part of Europe Universalis IV, delivered via diplomats.

This means that more risks are involved and that gamers will have to plan their actions in order to work around the limited number of individuals they will have to use.

EU IV will include five different espionage missions, some of them linked to ideas that need to be chosen, and using them will allow gamers to limit the diplomatic strength of another nation or encourage rebellions.

Detailed explanations for the covert action in Europa Universalis IV is available on the official forums.
