The development team working on Europa Universalis IV is delivering a new diary for the game in video format, this time offering more information on the importance of exploration and interaction as gameplay mechanics.

The timeframe of the grand strategy titles means that even small nations in Europe are able to become major players on the world stage as long as the player is able to discover important places on the map and then gain control over them.

The team says, "The promise of new riches and resources may lure your empire overseas, but what happens when your colonists start getting ideas about your relationship?"

Diplomacy and colonization are invaluable tools for all minors who want to evolve and challenge the established powers of the continent.

Europa Universalis IV will be out on August 13 on the PC.
