Paradox Interactive, the video game developer and publisher that focuses on grand strategy titles, has announced that it is developing a new expansion for their Europa Universalis III video game, called Divine Wind, which is set to deliver more detail to the exotic East of the game map.

Divine Wind is set to be delivered via digital distribution and will arrive at some point during December and those who are interested in playing it need to have both Europa Universalis III Complete and the Heir to the Throne expansion installed.

The new expansion is set to introduce more diplomatic options for all the factions in the game world, focusing on the creation of alliance and peace negations, which always seemed a bit simplistic.

Trade is also set to develop more realistically in Divine Wind and players will get access to new buildings that are linked to the culture of a province allowing for a more customized development strategy for all nations.

The Oriental specific additions include the ability for the player to take on the role of one of four daimyo's that are struggling for power to dominate the Emperor in Japan during the Shogunate era and specific mechanics for China that focus on how the rulers of the country can keep and fulfill the Mandate of Heaven.

There are also more provinces added to the Eastern section of the world, allowing for more options when it comes to empire building.

The game is also getting a new look, with the same kind of graphical effects seen in the more recent Victoria II game.

The developers at Paradox Interactive have been questioning their fans about what kind of content to deliver via digital distribution next and an Oriental expansion for Europa Universalis III coming out on top.

Europa Universalis III is one of the best titles Paradox has create and has been greatly enhanced by the three expansion packs it has received so far.
