MalSec and Anonymous hackers claim credit for the breach

Hackers from Malicious Security (MalSec) and ones that operate under the AnonOpsRomania banner have breached the site of Eurofound (eurofound.europa.eu), the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, leaking hundreds of user credentials.

By leveraging an SQL Injection vulnerability, the hackers managed to gain access to the site’s database.

The names of 69 database tables, around 460 clear-text passwords, close to 500 email addresses and usernames, along with the complete names of the accountholders were published online. The Pastebin post also contains 49 entries from a table called “project_name.”

MalSec hackers are known for recently breaching the site of a Cayman Island security company. While the targeted organization, Security Center Ltd, was honored to be hacked, its representatives highlighted the fact that they offer physical protection services and they don’t have anything to do with Internet security.

We’ve requested comment from members of the Anonymous Romania community, the ones that initially launched AnonOpsRomania, regarding the breach, but they denied being involved.

They claim they have no idea who MalSec is and that they had nothing to do with this particular hack.
