Eurocom has recently expanded its notebook lineup with another monstrous mobile workstation known as the Neptune which is destined to meet the needs of both gamers and professional requiring a powerful 3D-enabled laptop.

At the heart of Eurocom's latest creation stand Intel's Sandy Bridge processors, the notebook maker offering its clients the possibility of choosing between various Core i5 and i7 chips, going all the way to the quad-core i7-2960XM Extreme Edition.

This can be paired together with up to 32GB of system memory installed in four DIMM sockets and up to three physical drives (SSD, hybrid or mechanical) delivering a total 3 TB of storage.

On the graphics front, the Neptune can take a single MXM 3.0b GPU the optionals list including solutions from both Nvidia and AMD, including the AMD Radeon HD 6990M, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580M or the Quadro 4000M. For 3D operation an Nvidia-based graphics card is required.

All these are packed together with a 17.3-inch Full HD display inside a case weighting 8.58lbs (3.90kg).

The rest of the specs list includes a pair of USB 3.0 ports, a 9-in-1 card reader, one eSATA port, a 2MP webcam, and a DVD burner that needs to be removed if the user wants to add a third storage drive to the Neptune.

The Neptune is available right now from Eurocom's online store and its starting price is set at $1,635 US (roughly 1,313 EUR), but users have the option of configuring it depending on their needs.

Adding an 120Hz 3D-enabled Full HD panel to the notebook's configuration adds another $182 (135 EUR) to its base price and comes shipped together with an Nvidia 3D Vision Kit.
