Dhaqabo Ebba watched his great-grandchildren grow up

A farmer from the Oromian region in Ethopia claims to be about 160 years old, which would make him the oldest man alive.

However, that's hard to prove since, according to O Pride, he has no birth certificate. Even more surprising is the fact that he has managed to live to 160 while the national life expectancy rate is 60.

Dhaqabo Ebba is a village elder who describes being around for 20 rotations in the country's Gadaa government system.

There are five parties in the Gadaa system, and he saw each one of them lead the region on four different occasions.

“When Italy [first] invaded Ethiopia [in 1895], I had two wives and my son was old enough to herd cattle,” he adds.

Ebba lives in a small bamboo house near Dodola town and his great-grandchildren are grown up.
