Last week, hackers of Anonymous Ukraine launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack against the website of Estonia’s Ministry of Defense. The attack was part of an operation in support of Ukraine’s independence from the EU and NATO.

In a statement provided to Estonian Public Broadcasting, Defense Ministry representatives said the impact of the cyberattack was minimal. They’ve noted that an investigation into this matter would require too many resources and was simply not worth it.

Anonymous Ukraine has targeted several websites from Russia, Poland and Estonia as part of their campaign. On Thursday, they disrupted the site of NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).

They took down the CCDCOE’s website after a number of high-profile sites from Ukraine were defaced by hackers on behalf of the NATO organization.

Interestingly, there’s also a spam campaign launched by the individuals who targeted the Ukrainian websites.
