Espy is the latest Mac OS X application from GoGoalSoft (also responsible for goSecure). The Address Book application delivers quick access to contacts' information from a simple-to-use UI, and is the first address book to use pictures extensively. Contact photos can be added as large as 256 x 256 pixels. Click HERE to download the 30-day free trial version, or read on for more details... or you can do both.

"Espy is your address book with enhanced picture capabilities," GoGoalSoft says,
claiming its built-in search enables users to quickly find the information they need from their network of family, friends and clients. It can also help you browse through your contacts' pictures in an iPhoto-like interface, using the company's proprietary SnapFind interface, the developer notes.

What makes Espy original is its main picture view that shows you important information like the name, phone and email address more clearly than Apple's traditional Address Book. By adding a details-pane on the right hand side, it is easier for the user to access all the necessary information on any person they have stored in their Address Book.

"Have you ever run into someone on the street, but forgot his name? This is because visual memory is often longer lasting than textual memory. The same thing happens when you are at a party, banquet, or worst, at your own wedding!," GoGoalSoft explains.

This is where Espy comes in handy yet again, as it helps you find a contact's name easier, since you are more likely to recognize a face, rather than a number, name, or note. And, since pictures are the main focus with Espy, the SnapFind Interface allows you to add big, hi-res pictures of your contacts (256 x 256 pixels max). You can also turn this feature off and just use a simple view, if you wish.

Espy's drag-and-drop workflow lets you add your picture by just dragging it into the contact in Espy's window (don't forget to drop it too), after which you can zoom in and out of the photo.

Espy can import and export industry-standard VCards (.vcf files) and is configurable to check for updates automatically.

GoGoalSoft's latest app is a Universal Binary (good for both PPC and Intel-based Macs).
