As she’s striving to make a name for herself as a hardcore, serious rocker, 17-year-old Taylor Momsen is also stepping on a lot of toes, including those of the producers of “Gossip Girl” who, according to reports, have just cut down her appearance in the latest season.

In recent weeks, Taylor has been getting increasingly vocal on a series of topics ranging from her love life to how her parents reportedly pushed her into modeling at 2, and thus ruined her life.

At the same time, she’s been acting up in public, still refusing to wear pants and even flashing her chest in concert, an incident that was, of course, caught on tape and posted online.

Producers of “Gossip Girl” are not happy about it and they’re already thinking of way of pushing her out of the series, reports in the blogosphere suggest.

AceShowbiz, for instance, says the process has already begun, with the latest season barely showing Momson, though she remains listed in the credits as a series regular.

“Despite listed as a regular, Taylor Momsen is benched from several more episodes of ‘Gossip Girl.’ Her character Jenny Humphrey has been absent before, only appearing in a total of three episodes this season,” the e-zine notes.

“Deadline’s source said Little J will be MIA for at least four episodes beginning the midseason finale on December 6,” the same report suggests.

However, it could be that Momsen’s time on “Gossip Girl” has not been cut short because of her recent antics as reports suggest but simply for creative reasons, because the plot no longer allows her to be as much in it as before.

A “Gossip Girl” source spoke to People magazine, explaining that, while audiences might see less of Momsen this season, she remains a regular, she’s not going anywhere no matter the things she says or does.

“She is still a series regular. She’s still totally a part of the show. Yes, you have seen less of her this season, but it’s dictated by creative [executives],” the spy explains, adding that it’s all about the new developments in the plot.

“They graduated high school... [and] they found that it was hard to put all of them in the same environment in a natural way. When you see Jenny they want her to be driving the story, not just hanging out with the mean girls back in high school,” the source explains.
