Over the weekend, environmental activist Erin Brockovich was arrested for operating a boat on a lake near Las Vegas while under the influence, booked, and released on bail. Her mug shot has emerged online, and it’s already gone viral.

You can see it attached to this article.

As we also reported the other day, Brockovich was trying to dock her boat when a warden of the Nevada Department of Wildlife noticed she was struggling with the operation.

He approached her to offer her his assistance and instantly realized that she was under the influence because she was slurring her words, as the E! video report below also points out.

Brockovich’s booking photo has gone viral because it seems to contradict her statement that she only had a bit to drink and that she never believed it would impair her in any way.

“At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk. That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry,” she said, as we also informed you.

“After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized,” Brockovich added.

Police said that she was way over the legal limit, so they charged her with OUI, operating under the influence, which is just a fancy way of saying she got a DUI for boating drunk.

Brockovich is known worldwide for her contribution in building a solid case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and their connection to the pollution of the water in a California town.

Her story was brought to the big screen in 2000 with “Erin Brockovich.” Julia Roberts played her – and won an Oscar for her amazing performance.
