14 DAY TRIAL // News that Brooke Burke-Charvet had been fired as co-host of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars came as a shock to Brooke herself, who only found out about the decision hours before it was made public in a press release. Just as shocking is the report that ABC already has a replacement secured.
She is Erin Andrews and she’s famous for her coverage as a reporter on Fox Sports. She is also very beautiful and makes for an excellent TV presence.
What’s shocking about the report, which, for the time being, comes from an unconfirmed source speaking to Us Weekly, is that ABC would replace Burke.
When word of her dismissal got out over the weekend, it was generally assumed that she’d been let go because the show would continue with just one host, Tom Bergeron, who had co-hosted with Brooke for the past 8 seasons.
It turns out that this wasn’t the case. “The paperwork is being finalized, but it is happening,” says a spy. In other words, the deal with Erin, who competed on season 10 with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is all but done: all that’s missing at this point is her signature on the contract.
Meanwhile, Brooke has recovered from the initial shock and, while she’s not saying anything more about the reason she was let go so abruptly, she is reaching out to the fans to thank them for how amazingly supportive they’ve been with her, both during her time on the show and now, when she’s officially out of the DWTS family.
“Thanks for all the love & support. I loved my time in the ballroom & I'll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!” she writes on her Twitter.
Word online has it that, if Brooke is really being replaced with someone else, so this isn’t a decision meant to switch up the old hosting format, the reason she was let go is, most likely, a financial one.
