Ericsson have just managed to land themselves a new deal for providing their services and solutions on a new market from now on. Indonesia will have to benefit too from their evolved telecom solutions for the GSM/GPRS and WCDMA/HSPA network in the country.

Ericsson has just closed a three-and-a-half-year frame agreement with PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk, from Indonesia. According to this deal's terms, they will provide from now on best-in-class 2G and 3G radio access network and MINI-LINK transmission equipment, as well as deployment of its proven Mobile Softswitch Solution.

Ericsson's cooperation with Indonesia's telecom market has been a long one over the years and also involved the introduction of the 3G technology here. Not only that, but it has also been successful, which gives good reason for this new partnership. From now on, Ericsson will also provide consulting, such as network performance improvement, network capacity and design, among other services for Indonesia's network.

"Ericsson has a longstanding relationship with XL and this major contract demonstrates the trust and commitment between the two companies. It showcases Ericsson Indonesia's capability to support our customers in all product areas - as well as services - in this high-growth market", said Bengt Thornberg, President, Ericsson Indonesia.

This network expansion will extend XL's footprint and help it meet the demands of those who use mobile communications and broadband services in Indonesia. "High-quality network coverage, bandwidth capacity, innovative products and services are key to our long-term growth and sustainability. We have selected Ericsson because we need a partner who can support us in fulfilling these requirements", motivated Hasnul Suhaimi, President Director of XL.

Ericsson currently provides telecom solutions and services in more than 140 countries, which makes it one of the most powerful communication companies in the world.
