14 DAY TRIAL // Eric Holmes, the creative director who worked on Batman: Arkham Origins at the Montreal studio of Warner Bros., has announced that he is now working at DICE, although he has not yet revealed which projects he will be involved with in the coming years.
The information comes from an official Twitter message which also states that the game creator will be part of the Stockholm, Sweden team of the game company and not one of the American branches.
Eric Holmes is generally appreciated for the work he has done on Batman: Arkham Origins and he also has experience with titles like Prototype and Gears of War 3.
He was also involved in the creation of the technology associated with Unreal Engine 4 at Epic Games.
The titles Holmes might be working on include the new Battlefield, which is expected to arrive in late 2016, the Star Wars: Battlefront that is set to arrive this year, or the new Mirror's Edge experience, which currently does not have a launch date.
DICE is known for the level of attention it pays to the titles it creates, which probably means that the game developer is linked to a long-term project which will give him the time and the resources to create a quality experience.
This leads us to believe that Eric Holmes is associated with the Battlefield project, about which almost nothing is known.
Rocksteady is at the moment also working on a new Batman title, called Arkham Origins, designed to end the current series of titles featuring The Dark Knight.
DICE is a crucial development studio for Electronic Arts
The publisher is now focused on the development process for Battlefield Hardline, which was initially set to arrive in the fall of last year but was pushed back based on concerns over its quality.
It will be offered on March 17 in the US and on March 19 in Europe and more changes are being made based on the recent open beta.
Star Wars: Battlefront is the big title the company will be delivering this year, with a recent leak saying that it will have clear story ties to The Force Awakens and will introduce a new Hero mode that explores the most interesting moments in the history of the universe.
No information has been offered about the new Battlefield title that is planned for 2016.
