Eragon is a third-person video game released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows, developed by Stormfront Studios. Also
released are unique versions of Eragon for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP and mobile phone handheld gaming systems, primarily developed by Amaze Entertainment. The game is based upon the recent Eragon film, which is in turn based on the book Eragon, by Christopher Paolini. The games were released on November 14th 2006 in the United States of America, on November 24th 2006 in the European Union and on November 23rd 2006 in Australia in order to coincide with the release of the aforementioned film.
In the game, the player takes on the role of the main protagonist from the book and film, Eragon and occasionally takes control of his dragon Saphira. The game was received poorly by critics, usually receiving press and user rating averages around the 4-6 out of 10 regions (or the equivalent). The console and PC versions of the game are very similar, focusing on the same style of gameplay.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Defeating Durza
When fighting Durza for the second time, use the stylus to move around when you are fired upon. When Durza is in front of you, do not stop pressing L or R. Durza cannot shoot back while getting hit. Also, click the up arrow with "X". You will move out of the way faster. This also works with down, right, or left.
GLITCHES
Go inside a rock
While in Hadarac Desert after Eragon talks about Brom, and after you fight off the two enemies, from the starting point by Saphira run northeast until you hit a big rock. In front of it, there should be about an Eragon-sized rock, a small rock, and a little bit of what appears to be grass. Go forward, so that Eragon is facing the front side of the rocks and jump. If done correctly, Eragon will either float in mid-air or just float slowly down. If you double-jump, Eragon goes inside the big rock.
Once done, you cannot get back out. if you change the camera angle after walking back a short distance, you will see the stone and yellowish land around it. If you move too far away from the stone, you "fall" forever. While falling you cannot perform any actions other than attempting to move (which switches views) or changing the camera angle. While falling if you bring up the map on the touch screen (and use the D-pad to "move"), the green triangle representing Eragon will move around in the black space. Once in any part of this glitch, you must quit the game or turn off the power to exit from it.
