Epson brought the photo printing professional techniques to the home users dedicated segment by launching three Ultra Hi-Definition photo printers - the Epson Stylus Photo R260 and R380 models, along with the Epson Stylus Photo RX580 all-in-one.
"Just as HD created a new standard in consumer video, Epson has raised the bar once again for consumers who are demanding professional photo quality output in an affordable home printer," said Steve Semos, product manager, Epson. "We've taken our experience in the professional photography market and incorporated many of those attributes into our new Ultra Hi-Definition products with Claria ink to create the best consumer photo printers on the market, bar none. Now, printing brilliant Ultra Hi-Definition photos that can last for generations takes just seconds right at home."
Furthermore, the manufacturer also introduced its latest development - a new technology named Claria ink that is meant to provide an enhanced quality and HD compliant images. The printers are also able to deliver the fastest photo print speeds in comparison to any similar product previously released by Epson and a superior longevity of the photos, comparable to the ones processed in professional labs. Consequently, the prints are resistant to: water, scratch, fading, sun, as the printer is also adjusted to be compatible with any media size or surface.
Regarding the faster print speeds, Epson's patented print head delivers a borderless 4"x 6" photo in less than 13 seconds (draft mode), a better-than-lab quality borderless 4"x 6" photo in 30 seconds (default mode) and black and color text documents in up to 30 pages per minute.
Another innovative feature offered by Epson is the Direct CD/DVD Printing that enables the printer to deliver photos coming directly from a CD or DVD, and also enables you to create customized designs without any software tool.
Furthermore, the HD photo printers are able to cover the entire surface generating a professional photo and eliminating during the process the cluttered labels that can destroy and even damage the CD/DVD drives.
