Beside the PowerLite 1835 projector we've talked about earlier today, Epson also unveiled today a whole new series of projectors, the PowerLite D6000 series, targeting the higher education segment.
The new series includes the PowerLite D6150, D6155W and D6250 models, all of which feature a dust resistant design (very important, given the specific market segment), a 10,000 hour electrostatic filter and lamp life of 5,000 hours.
Each of these three projectors offers a very interesting set of features, the
Epson PowerLite D6150 delivering 3,500 lumens of color and white light output with XGA resolution, while the PowerLite D6155W sports 3,500 lumens of color and white light output with WXGA resolution for widescreen content and the PowerLite D6250 provides 4,000 lumens of color and white light output with XGA resolution.
Naturally, the three D6000 series projectors also pack plenty of additional common features, including here the benefits in image quality brought about by 3-LCD technology, as well as several image adjustment options.
Moreover, as expected from modern projectors, the D6000 series devices pack quite a few interesting and useful connectivity and networking options, such as HDMI and USB ports, the latter being used for attaching a Wi-Fi dongle as well.
"Epson remains committed to educators and students by creating projectors that not only deliver cutting-edge technology and network offerings, but are also built to perform and last," said Sean Gunduz, product manager, Epson America.
"The new PowerLite D6000 series projectors feature our most innovative dust resistant design which prevents air from entering the unit except through the filter, and exhaust vent shutters that help prevent dust and bugs from entering when the unit is off, " the company's rep concluded.
All of the new PowerLite D6000 series projectors from Epson will become available in April 2011, the Epson PowerLite D6150 selling for aorund $1,649, the D6155W for around $1,799 and the D6250 for roughly $1,799.
