Although laser printers are becoming increasingly popular among consumers in both home office and corporate environments, inkjets are still far from extinction and Epson's latest announcement proves it only very well. Thus, the company, one of the world's best-known manufacturers of printing solutions, has just announced the launch of its Stylus C120 model, which is capable of delivering almost laser-like printing speeds, in both color and grayscale printing.

Thus, the new Epson printer can attain printing speeds of up to 37 pages per minute (ppm) for black and 20 ppm for color in draft mode. Moreover, even if it is designed especially to work as a document printer, the device also provides certain important photo-printing features, including BorderFree photo printing in 3.5 x 5 inches, 4 x 6 inches, 5 x 7 inches, 8 x 10 inches as well as letter sizes with no perforations or edges to trim. Moreover, the printer supports paper sizes of up to 8.5 inches x 44 inches (21.6 cm x 1.11 meters).

Another important selling point of the C120 is the fact that it features individual ink cartridges, so that consumers only have to replace the color needed. Moreover, the printer uses DURABrite Ultra inks that produce smudge and water resistant laser-quality text and brilliant color images on both plain and photo paper.

"People who are thinking about buying an entry-level laser printer will love the Epson C120 ink jet printer," said R. Craig Allen, product manager, Consumer Ink Jet Printers, Epson. "This printer has not only the black text speed of a laser but also color printing and photo capabilities at a very affordable price. Whether customers want to print presentations or brochures to market their business or simply need to print everyday documents like school reports or driving directions, the Epson C120 has what they need."

Epson's Stylus C120 Ink Jet printer will retail for around $89.99 (MSRP), which is quite a good price for such an advanced and speedy printer.
