14 DAY TRIAL // Printers may not get as much attention as other IT products, but there come times when one model or another stands out, like the Epson ME Officer 535, which is supposedly the smallest of its kind.
Printers come in many forms and feature sets, but very popular among consumers are the ones that can do more than 'just' print.
Called multifunction or all-in-one printers, they can make photocopies and perform scans as well.
The ME Office 535 is one of the products that can do things like this, though this isn't what enables it to stand apart from all others of its kind.
What Epson claims is that the ME Office 535 is the smallest all-in-one, for offices where space is a premium.
More specifically, it is 39% smaller and uses 19% fewer components, compared to the Epson Stylus TX22 (the predecessor).
"We live in a society where space constraints are a constant challenge and we wanted to address this by designing and developing a printer that was economical in size, and yet did not compromise on quality and performance," says Tan May Lin, General Manager, Epson Singapore. "We are confident that the new ME Office 535 fits that bill."
The maximum print resolution of the item is 5,760 x 1,440 pixels (A4) while the cost is of $0.05 cents per page (for monochrome prints) thanks to M 141 inks.
Additionally, the newcomer consumes up to 70% less power than conventional laser printers, and this applies, in some measure, to the X-Series and Workforce Pro models as well.
Already up for order in Singapore, the Epson ME Office 535 Inkjet has a price of about $148, which is the same as 106.72 Euro.
“Last year, Epson committed to grow our business printing market by lowering the cost of printing for our customers through printer models with extremely low cost per page,” says Danny Lee, General Manager of Sales & Marketing Division of Epson Malaysia.
“This year, we reinforce that commitment by expanding our low running cost models to offer even more capabilities – from space savings, to even lower cost per page for monochrome and colour document printing. We are confident that no matter what our customers’ business printing needs are, there is now a perfect Epson inkjet for them to reduce their running costs.”
