Pretty weird "phone"

If you ever thought a wrist-watch mobile phone is too small to run on Windows Mobile, you were wrong. Epoq EGP-WP98B, produced by Epoq Multimedia, seems to be the very first such device. Its WM version is 5.0, and although it can't possibly run on it like on a normal smartphone or Pocket PC, it does run somehow. Otherwise, EGP-WP98B's producer wouldn't have said their tiny phone comes with this operating system, right?

Besides the unusual interface, the new phone watch also offers some features that we can't find in too many gadgets of this kind. Epoq EGP-WP98B is powered by an ARM926 processor at 266 MHz and brings 128MB of RAM and a 512MB memory card that can be replaced with an 1GB one. Furthermore, the device features quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 /1900 MHz) with GPRS, an 1.45 inch display with handwriting recognition, Wi-Fi (although on such a small screen Web browsing can't be too cool), Bluetooth, Media player with support for MP3, MP4, WMV, AVI and 3GP, plus an 1.3 Megapixel photo camera. The phone watch can come with two types of wristbands, at customer's choice: a stainless steel or a leather one.

Epoq EGP-WP98B supports MSN and Skype, as well as 10 languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Arabic.

EGP-WP98B's dimensions and weight were not announced, but it's obviously the device is very small if compared to an ordinary cell phone.

If you want to buy Epoq EGP-WP98 you can find it at several online retailers (here, for example), for prices of at least $600. The weird phone will only be available starting the 25th of April, so you'll have to wait a bit until getting your hands on it.
