Experience new kinds of entertainment by using the dedicated application

Sony has confirmed that a brand new entertainment application will soon be available on the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita consoles, in the form of Epix.

Sony has been emphasizing the entertainment features of its PS3 and PS Vita for quite some time and helped release a variety of dedicated apps for services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, or Amazon Instant Video.

Now, a new application is set to appear on the PS3 and PS Vita, in the form of Epix, according to the PS blog.

In case you're not familiar with it, Epix is an entertainment network that offers access to all sorts of movies, concerts, comedy specials, sports games, and even original programming through all sorts of devices.

Through the use of the upcoming app, which is out in the following months, existing Epix subscribers can enjoy all sorts of great releases, including movies like The Hunger Games, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, or Thor.

As of yet, the Epix app for PS3 and PS Vita doesn't have a concrete release date.
