Without a doubt one of the most interesting third party titles coming to the Nintendo Wii this holiday season is Disney's Epic Mickey, a darker approach to the adventures of the cartoon mouse, one which, according to the game's producer, will push the Nintendo Wii console to its "ultimate limit."

The Nintendo Wii is the weakest console in this generation of devices, not even being able to output in HD format, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a sales phenomenon, even though the graphics of titles for the Wii haven't been mind blowing.

But Disney's Epic Mickey is set to change that, as its producer, Raul Ramirez, revealed that the title will be pushing the Wii hardware to its ultimate limit, in order to really tell a great story involving the classic Disney character.

"We do have such a great experienced staff at Junction Point that we were able to, as we feel, push the Wii to it's capability and ultimate limit and provide a beautiful story for the player to jump into."

Ramirez attributes this achievement to the staffs of Junction Point and Disney, who managed to really exploit the weaker hardware of the Wii.

"We are fortunate enough to have such great staff and we have a lot of years experience in the gaming community that they've just pushed the Wii to its capability, to its absolute max, in order to provide what you're seeing in front of you."

But don't go thinking this is it for the small, white console, as Ramirez says that with more time, developers will be able to squeeze out more power, so the limit can be pushed back once more.

"We could possibly get better if we had more time to work with it and play with it. There's just so much that we haven't been able to do," explained Ramirez.

Epic Mickey is set to be launched on November 26 in Europe and November 30 in North America, exclusively for the Nintendo Wii console.
