The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next-gen consoles aren't as powerful as PCs, at least according to Epic Games' Mark Rein, who mentioned that the recent statement from Electronic Arts is a lie.

Right after the reveal of the Xbox One, quite a few developers and publishers started comparing it to the PS4 and to the PC as well, with EA's Chief Technical Officer even going so far as to say that both the Xbox One and PS4 are a generation ahead of the most powerful PCs out there.

Such a statement is completely wrong, at least according to Mark Rein, the vice president of Epic Games, the studio behind the upcoming Unreal Engine 4 graphics technology.

Rein mentioned that the statement is a fabrication, or at least wrong in certain aspects, via his personal Twitter account.

While the executive admitted that, in terms of architecture, the Xbox One and PS4 are more advanced, in terms of power they aren't as good as the highest end PCs out there.
