Ephemeral Fantasia is a video game that was developed by Virgin Interactive Entertainment, Inc. and was published by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, Inc. The game was launched exclusively for the PlayStation 2 home console from Sony in the month of September 2011. The title can be classed as an action adventure and role playing game hybrid which is played from a third person perspective. There are also influences from turn based strategy and the manga and anime style of cartoons.
The video game puts the player in charge of the character of Mouse, a weirdly named silent musician who owns a real life talking guitar, named Pattimo. One of the biggest moments of Mouses' career is being invited to play for a royal wedding that is taking place on the island of Pandule. Once he gets there the musician finds out that the groom is not all what he seems to be. Xelpherpolis might appear like an endearing character but he is actually a capable wizard who has put the entire island under a time looping spell, which will eventually lead to the death of the entire population. Mouse needs to stop the villain and he can only do this by exploring the island, recruiting other characters to his cause and doing battle with the forces of the groom. All the battles take place in turn based fashion while moving around the island is done in real time.
The title is clearly inspired from previous titles like Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64, Sehnmue for the Dreamcast and Quest for Glory for the PC. There are also influences from Final Fantasy intervowen in the game.
