Envision Intros New Omni Series of Advanced LCD TVs

- With three new models

By: Alex Vochin, Technology Editor

The Envision company is specialized in the manufacture of various LCD monitors, but it would seem that they're also keen on penetrating the already very crowded market of HDTV sets. Thus, the company has just announced the release of a new series of LCD television sets, dubbed the Omni Series, which includes several models providing very good quality images at some pretty affordable price tags.

Thus, each of the new 26-, 32- and 42-inch TVs boasts High-Definition capability with ATSC and digital clear-QAM tuners, providing good quality reception of over-the-air HD broadcasts and enabling them to decode clear channels transmitted digitally over cable without
the need for separate set-top receiver boxes. Advanced connectivity options allow simultaneous access to multiple digital multimedia devices including DVRs, Blu-ray players, game consoles, digital photo and video cameras and PCs.

The Omni Series is optimized for color-rich, high-resolution picture quality with a 16:9 aspect ratio (1366 X 768 pixels) and ultra-fast 8-millisecond response time. Standard features include a color-coded, multi-function remote, built-in speakers, headphone output and an all-digital S/PDIF interface that is compatible with most surround sound set-ups to ensure vivid sound delivery of movies, video games and television programs.

Further enhancing viewing enjoyment, each new unit is equipped with multiple picture mode with options including normal, zoom, wide and cinema. Other useful settings include auto program, menu language, closed caption, sleep timer and V-Chip parental control. Accentuating style with dramatic glossy black finish, each new LCD display can be easily mounted on the wall at home or in the office and provides a viewing angle of more than 170-degrees (32- and 42-inch).

"Envision's new HDTV's are the perfect complement to any home or office setting," said Michael Lien, GM, North America Brand Sales. "With a combination of sleek sophistication, remarkable picture and sound quality and total ease of use, the Omni Series TVs are the perfect gifts for someone seeking the ultimate theater experience."

With a 42-inch screen and 1200:1 contrast ratio, the L42W761 provides optimum widescreen clarity, as it comes equipped with two video and two High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) inputs to simplify cabling and deliver distortion-free all-digital audio and video quality. Envision also offers 26-inch and 32-inch wide screen LCD HDTVs each equipped with video and HDMI input with 800:1 and 1500:1 contrast ratios, respectively.

The new HDTVs from Envision are available for around 999 US dollars (the 42-inch version), as well as $479 and $649 (the 26-inch and 32-inch versions), which are some pretty affordable price tags, taking into consideration the features these things have to offer.
