Religion makes people do incredible things, both good and bad, as God's will is not always accurately preached and may lead to certain misunderstandings. In the case of a South African congregation, the Pastor preaching to hundreds of people instructed them to eat grass in order to get closer to God.

As any good followers, the congregation members didn't question the preacher’s word and dropped to the lawn beginning to eat grass, in an animal-like display. The aftermath of the unique way to approach divinity was even worse as most people got sick and rushed to the bathrooms holding on to their stomachs and barely refraining themselves from throwing up.

As if this wasn't enough, during their grass-eating session the followers were stamped upon by their own preacher. Pictures of the controversial event were published on Robboni Centre Ministries Facebook page and attracted the attention of people from all over the world.

Some of the congregation members were more than satisfied with the pastor's methods allegedly healing them from all kinds of illnesses. One 21-year-old student said that eating grass cured her 1-year-long sore throat and another said it miraculously helped her recover from a stroke and walk again.

“Yes, we eat grass and we're proud of it because it demonstrates that, with God's power, we can do anything,” one participant says, according to South Africa's Times Live. They even call the pastor, “the miracle man” because of his rituals of turning people into animals and making them eat grass.

Dozens of followers believed that eating grass, under the instruction of Pastor Lesego Daniel at his ministry in Garankuwa, north of Pretoria, would actually make their faith stronger. But this is not Pastor' Lesego's first method to attract strong criticism from the public. He reportedly held another unusual event where he compelled almost 1,000 people to sleep and then walked across them.

Allegedly, the pastor screamed “sleep” and six people instantly went into a deep sleep from which they didn't wake up until the preacher screamed “wake up” and they arose. Not even the fact that the miracle man was slapping and trampling them didn't wake them up, not until he screamed again. The bizarre methods have been severely criticized and the pastor's answer is he loves using these kind of rituals because he doesn't want to get bored.
