Fresh off their trip to Italy, the cast of “Jersey Shore” is getting ready to shoot season 5 of the reality series. Come the season after that, MTV will bring a much-needed change, by replacing the entire cast with new faces, it has emerged.

Amidst reports that some of the members of the cast (like The Situation, Pauly D and Snooki) are again asking for a raise to be on season 5, word is spreading online that MTV has already decided the fate of all of them – and they will be replaced.

The guidos and guidettes have just returned from Italy, where they shot season 4 and MTV is reportedly eager to have them start working on more episodes as soon as possible.

Us Weekly (story via here) claims to have it on good authority that the network has realized that bringing new people for the show is the right step for the show.

“After this group comes back from Italy and shoots season 5 this summer, that will be the end for them. They will leave on a high note!” an unnamed source says, adding that the new stars will be “much cheaper.”

TMZ claims the same: once the current cast is done with season 5, they will be moving on from the show that made them such internationally known names.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though, the e-zine notes.

“Although some big wigs on the show denied it last week, we’re told MTV wants a fresh cast of characters after they wrap Season 5 – which begins shooting in New Jersey Monday,” TMZ reports.

“MTV gets the best of both worlds. They can keep the ‘Jersey Shore’ machine going by growing a new crop of much cheaper stars. And, as for the break-outs in the original cast – including The Situation, Snooki, JWOWW and Pauly D – the network has already signed them to spinoffs,” the e-zine further says.

Whether the new stars of the show will manage to bring in the huge ratings as the current ones do remains to be seen.
