The first installment in Phase 3 will be out in May 2016

Just yesterday, Marvel announced the official cast and synopsis of “Captain America: Civil War,” their next release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first installment in the studio’s Phase 3, which will introduce new heroes and villains.

Hours later, the entire script of the film or, better said, a very detailed write-up of it, emerged online, on 4Chan. You can find it in full below, by clicking the button, but please bear in mind that it has not been confirmed yet for the real deal.

We’re working under the assumption that it is legit, because of the amount of details provided, so *please be advised that it contains many spoilers. This entire piece contains spoilers as well, so you might want to stop reading if you haven’t seen “Avengers: Age of Ultron” yet.

“Captain America 3,” what we know so far

Based on the events at the end of “Ultron,” we know this much: Tony Stark / Iron Man is done with the Avengers and Captain America has taken over as leader of the new team. The Hulk is in the wind, but the Avengers have Scarlet Witch and Vision now, and they’re determined to fight all forces of evil.

The first on their priority list is finding Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier, whom the Cap went up against in the second installment in his own movies.

We also know that there was a lot of tension between Iron Man and the Cap, which many fans assumed would be further explored in “Captain America: Civil War.” When Marvel confirmed that Robert Downey Jr. would be in the film, alongside Chris Evans and every other Avenger, the same fans took it as confirmation that they were about to see these two clash. Hard.

In the comic books, Captain America and Iron Man disagree over the Registration, a new law that has people with superhuman powers register with the state after a series of international incidents. Iron Man is backing it up because he believes it would lead to order, but the Cap opposes it because he’s already seen what happens when governments infringe on people’s liberties in the name of security issues.

Apparently, this is exactly how this will go down in the film, as per the leak.

“Captain America 3,” what really happens

As you can see below, this is the starting point of the conflict in the third “Captain America” movie. The two heroes also have issues over the capture of The Winter Soldier, with Iron Man believing he should be taken out because he’s evil, while the Cap wants to get Bucky back by having him re-reconditioned.

The Cap thinks Bucky is a victim, and he’s willing to face the entire world to prove it.

According to the leak, Marvel has several major surprises in store for the fans, including one death that will bring tears to their eyes and the introduction of several, highly-anticipated characters like Black Panther and Spider-Man.

Indeed, the report claims that Spider-Man, whom Marvel acquired from Sony in the aftermath of the infamous Sony Hack in November, is one of the new Avengers now - and he will also be playing a major part in shaping up the new team by reminding the new and old members of what is really important. Hint: it’s not fighting each other, but against evil.

However, before you proceed any further, consider this: this leaked write-up of the script makes no mention of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), whose appearance has been confirmed yesterday by Marvel. So either he’ll only be making a brief cameo with no actual relevance to the way events play out, or this isn’t the actual script we’re talking about.

As of the time of writing, we have no way of knowing which it is.
