Enterprise 1701-A and Serenity Add to FTL via Mods

A modder called MattsterT has added both the Enterprise 1701-A of Star Trek fame and the Serenity ship seen in Firefly to FTL, the space-based rogue-like from SubSet Games.

The two mods can be downloaded here and here and the links also include information on how to back up the initial install of FTL and on how to properly install and use the new ships.

Both of the mods are still in development, but they are currently stable and playable.

Because of the limited actual space for ship rooms in FTL both the Serenity and Enterprise have less rooms than they do in the television shows, but fans will surely be happy to be able to use the two iconic space vessels in order to explore the galaxy and evade the Rebel forces.

It would be interesting to see modders add other well-known ships, like the Battlestar Galactica, to the game.
