Enrique Iglesias has reportedly honored the bet he made before Spain won the World Cup

A while ago, Enrique Iglesias made a promise meant to send the hearts of all his female fans racing: if Spain won the World Cup, he’d water-ski sans his clothes. Even though authorities warned him not to go through with his plan or he’d face arrest, it would appear that Enrique did not forget about his promise, as a very grainy video on TMZ seems to confirm.

In other words, in the middle of the night, under the cover of the dark, the Latino heartthrob disrobed and did some water sports – and even had someone tape the entire thing as proof. After all, Spain did win the World Cup and not fulfilling his end of the bargain would have made Enrique a very unreliable man – and a hypocritical tease as well, word on the blogosphere has it.

TMZ confirms that the man in the grainy and very shaky video is indeed Enrique. Admittedly, he made sure he kept his promise sometime at the end of last month, off the coast of Miami. Everything was planned well in advance, to make sure no one but those accompanying him would see his stunt – or he could face arrest. Even when he was told it was better if he just forgot about the whole stunt, Enrique reportedly said “A bet is a bet” and just did it.

TMZ contacted the singer’s management for comment on this and got only this in reply: “We do not manage Enrique’s personal time schedule but we do know he was in Miami the last week of July.” That is to say, “we’re confirming this without actually looking like we’re doing so.” A 30-second video of what looks like Enrique Iglesias waterskiing in a most unusual attire (or lack thereof, more likely) is available here – but be advised that it’s of very low quality.

As speculation that the man in the video is not really Enrique Iglesias is picking up speed, his camp continues to keep mum on the topic. Chances are confirmation of this will never come – so it’s up to you to choose what to believe.
