Enrique Iglesias is all about offering his fans the best concert experience possible, but his efforts had the opposite of the desired result last night, as he performed for about 12,000 people in Tijuana, Mexico.

The Latino heartthrob is now on the road with the Sex and Love World Tour, with the shows also including a flying drone, which snaps photos and footage of the audience having fun. It was this drone that sliced Enrique’s fingers last night.

Singer grabs drone, ends up hurt and bloodied

Also as part of the shows, Enrique uses to grab the drone in order to offer fans his point of view. He did the same at the Tijuana show, as you can see in the two videos embedded below: one is shot from the front of the stage, while the other from behind Enrique.

For a few moments, everything goes according to plan, but when Enrique tries to grab the drone with his other hand as well, to turn it towards the audience, his fingers get caught in the blades.

You can see him in the first video shaking his injured hand free and then tossing the drone with his other hand away from him. The singer rushed to the back of the stage afterwards, and according to reports, was urged to cut the show short because he was badly injured.

With all this, he continued performing for another 30 minutes, and as the photos in the gallery can attest, he even included his injured hand in the show, drawing a heart on his white T-shirt in his own blood.

If that’s not commitment to deliver high-quality entertainment, we don’t know what is.

Enrique flies to LA for surgery

Reports online say that the singer was flown out of Mexico right after the show, back to Los Angeles, where he went into surgery right away.

A statement on his official website reads, “Thank you to all the fans for your concern and good wishes. Enrique is getting the help he needs and we hope he will be totally fine. Will keep you posted and appreciate all your wishes and prayers.”

At the same time, rumors claim that the injury was pretty severe, despite his bravery to continue performing with just a bandage on.

Enrique’s next tour date is set for July 3 for Mexico City in Mexico, so he will hopefully make a full recovery by then.
