Enrique Iglesias confesses that he might get married to Anna Kournikova some day

Enrique Iglesias has begun his promotional campaign for his latest studio album and, as part of that tour, he's now being invited on TV to talk about his life, his future, his career and his plans. Speaking with the hosts of the Today Show on Monday, he happened to talk about marriage too.

Enrique Iglesias has been involved with former tennis player Anna Kournikova for some time now but fans and the media have all but given up on them ever getting married because they never looked like they had plans to commit and Enrique wasn't sending out the right signals.

But now, according to E!, he's keen on setting the record straight and mentioning that a marriage to Ann Kournikova is not entirely out of the question. “I'm not against marriage” the singer said, adding that “I have not ruled it out … but if you're happy, I don't think it really makes a difference.”

He tried to avoid the subject at first by saying “I keep my personal life as private as possible because I feel that we need that…” but one of the anchors intervened saying “You made news because you said that you don't want to get married.”

At this, Enrique tried to clarify things “It's not, I didn't say that I don't want to get married. I don't know if I maybe came out the wrong way. What I said is that, 'We are extremely happy the way we are.' I'm not against marriage by any means.”

As the anchors go wild at hearing this news, Enrigue gushes about Anna, calling her “the coolest girl in the world” and thus proving that they are still very much in love after all these years. Of course, this could all be a marketing ploy to get media outlets to speak about Enrique who could then, in turn, plug his album better.

In his previous statement he had mentioned that he didn't think marrying Anna would bring them “closer together,” something which the press interpreted as a definite “no” on marriage for the Latin singer.

The two met for the first time when Enrique was working on his 2001 “Escape” music video and they hit it off immediately. 13 years later, the sparks still seem to be flying between these two, now with the added bonus of a possible wedding date between the 38-year-old singer and the 32-year-old former pro tennis player.
