Consumers who use Google’s Maps service and the built-in Street View option on a daily basis can do the same thing on a Windows 8 workstation without even leaving the Metro/Modern user interface.

The so-called Modern Street View application is an easy to use piece of software that allows you to make the most of Google’s Street View from any Windows 8 device.

The program enables users to quickly browse to a specific location and access Street View imagery just like they normally do with their browsers, while also providing dedicated options to take virtual photos and share panoramas with friends using the Share charm.

Sadly, the app doesn’t yet work on Windows RT tablets, as it only offers support for x86 and x64 versions of Microsoft’s latest operating system.

Click here to view the Modern Street View product page in your browser.
