The official English language website of Russia’s Federal Customs Service (eng.customs.ru) has been hacked and defaced by members of Team MaXiMiZerS. The attack took place on Saturday.

The hackers uploaded a defacement page to eng.customs.ru/x.html. The hacktivists want Russia to allow Muslim women to wear their hijabs.

“Respect every women in Russia and do not ban hijaab for them,” Team MaXiMiZerS wrote on the defacement page.

At the time of writing, the page has been removed by the site’s administrators, but a mirror of the Federal Customs Service defacement is available on Dark-H.

In January, Team MaXiMiZerS targeted Indian websites as part of the attacks launched by Pakistani hacktivists against India on the country’s Republic Day. They’ve also defaced a subdomain of the Thailand Police website.
