Visitors are required to keep their distance, avoid health hazards

Many people are oblivious to this, but England has for some time been home to a rather peculiar touristic destination: The Poison Garden.

It is not difficult to figure out – judging just by its name – that this particular garden has something other than your run-off-the-mill roses and daisies on display. Quite the contrary: the plants grown here are some of the deadliest in the world.

More precisely, all of them can either kill, or at least inflict some very serious physical damage to those who come a bit too close to them. However, this does not mean that they are not as beautiful and as worthy of our admiration as their more people-friendly relatives are.

From where we stand, this garden stands as a reminder that our planet's flora does comprise harmless plant species alone, and that some types of vegetation can sometimes be as deadly as some greatly feared animals are.

More information on this peculiar garden can be found here.
