Love knows no age, no reason, no boundaries and sometimes no logic. Obstacles mean absolutely nothing in the face of love. That's what this British couple's story proves. After 24 years apart, a Sheffield, England couple have rekindled their love for each other and said “I do” for the second time, all due to a photo.

Ann Jackson, 57, and Chris Jackson, 62, first met at a wedding in 1973. They fell in love and got married four years later.

“He followed me around all night. We were instantly attracted to each other. I moved to Chris's home in Wrexham when I was 19 and two years later, in 1979, we married,” Mrs Jackson said, as reported by Daily Mail.

They moved to Wrexham, but things didn't go as expected. Ann says she wasn't happy and she missed her home town, Sheffield. So, things changed between the two, and their life together ended after seven years of marriage. The woman remarried in 1990 and had two children, Joshua, now 23, and Ellie, 17.

Her second marriage lasted for 19 years, but after it ended, Mrs Jackson decided to reconnect to her first husband Chris, after seeing a long-forgotten photograph of their wedding which gave her butterflies in her stomach.

“I looked at the photograph and I was taken straight back to my first wedding. We looked so happy. […] I'd never fallen out of love with Chris. Even though our first wedding was wonderful, our second was a lot more meaningful because we realised that fate brought us back together,” the woman said.

As strange as it may sound, that old photo brought the couple together. When Ann called Chris, he couldn't believe it was her, but was certainly glad to hear her voice. They remarried after 24 years apart with her children's blessing, who gave her away at their second wedding in April 2011.

The couple believes they were meant to be together. They say they are very happy and that their love never faded away.

“Our life is wonderful. There have been some ups and downs along the way but I'm exactly where I want to be now. It's hard to believe that one picture changed my life so much. It's the kind of thing you read about happening to other people. But it actually happened to me,” Ann added.
