Enermax has announced that it is adding extra functionality and reliability to its mainstream power supply series in the 400W to 720W range. More specifically, the company is improving the PSUs from the MODU82+, PRO82+, Liberty ECO and ECO80+ series. The new units will feature the HeatGuard technology, CordGuard and new fans.

Enermax is celebrating its 20-year anniversary and this product upgrade is just part of its plan for 2010. Already, the company has revealed the Pro87+ and MODU87+ power supplies and even products built with the Dynamic Hybrid Transformer. The hardware maker has even announced that it would be extending the warranty of all products, both new and already sold, in the Galaxy Evo line to five years. Upgrading its mainstream product line is the next step in Enermax's 2010 anniversary campaign.

The MODU82+, PRO82+, Liberty ECO and ECO80+ will, henceforth, be built with the CordGuard, a patented metal-clip that helps avoid the loosening of the AC cord over time. Of course, this extra reassurance is not the only added functionality. The new power supplies will also feature the HeatGuard technology, which will keep the fan running for 30 to 60 seconds after the computer has shut down, in order to dissipate the remaining heat.

The power supplies from Enermax are designed capable of supporting the current high-end graphics cards and, also, those that are going to be released during the current year. Most of these graphics solutions require two 8p PCIe connectors to run, which explains why the new PSUs only feature 6+2p connectors.

Finally, as its way to celebrate 20 years of good business, Enermax will be including, in the product bundle, a free-of-charge TWISTER bearing-based MAGMA series fan with an additional HALO frame cut-out to reduce turbulence. Most of the products in the four series of power supplies may be found on the company's official website.
