Two new cases revealed, for people on a budget and those who like silence

Enermax's Staray series of desktop cases may not exactly be news in itself, but the company did just turn it into a matter of actuality by adding two new models to it.

Enermax has just unveiled the Staray model ECA3175-L and the Staray model ECA3175-S, two new cases featuring the mid-tower form factor.

Only the former is available, for a price of 49.90 Euro ($64.28), while the latter will only start shipping in March (2012), for 64.90 Euro ($83.61).

The ECA3175-L is aimed at customers with limited budgets, but it still has a 120mm fan on the front and USB 3.0 (front panel).

The second case, ECA3175-S, has the same outward appearance as its sibling, which is to say, it looks the same as the original ECA3170-BL/-BR.

Considering how the company saw fit to build on the same ideas, it doubtlessly has reasons for this close emulation of the base concept.

For those unaware, the first Staray case was launched back in 2010 and “is still very popular amongst end users” thanks to its “excellent price-performance ratio”, or so Enermax claims.

That said, the ECA3175-S possesses some perks compared to the ECA3175-L.

Special fans are one thing: rather than standard spinners, the product uses T.B.Silence fans.

Another asset consists of a modified interior, with a total black coating and a cut-out behind the motherboard, making it easy to install or change the CPU cooler.

The case also comes with a pair of high-speed USB 3.0 interfaces with internal 19-pin connector.

To be fair, the ECA3175-L also has this 19-pin connectivity, but only one interface instead of two.

The rest of the specifications are similar, so prospective buyers that really want to know what they are in for can just drop by the official web page that Enermax has dedicated to the Staray series (it is right here).
